How to Create an Instagram Automation for Post or Reel Comments with AutoDM on SuperProfile?

Want to send an instant reply to anyone who comments on your Instagram post or reel? AutoDM makes it simple.
Follow this quick guide to set up your automation in minutes.

Step 1: Start a New Automation

  1. Open the AutoDM app.

  2. Click the Create Automation button (top-right corner).

  3. Select "Comments on your Post or Reel" from the automation types.

Step 2: Choose the Post/Reel to Automate

You'll now see three options for selecting which post/reel to automate:

  • Any Post-
    Triggers on all existing and future posts.
    Best if you want one automation running everywhere.

  • Specific Post-
    Pick a particular post or reel from your feed.
    Ideal for post specific campaigns, giveaways, or promotions.

  • Next Post-
    The automation will apply to the very next post you publish.
    Useful when planning content ahead.

Choose one and click - Next.

Step 3: Define Comment Trigger Conditions

Now choose how you want to trigger the automation:

Decide when the automation should activate:

  1. Any Comment
    Triggers for every comment.
  2. With Specific Keyword
    Triggers only when the comment includes certain words or phrases.

If you choose Specific Keyword, you can add:

  • Included keywords → must appear to trigger
    Example: ebook, price, demo etc.

  • Excluded keywords → block the automation
    Example: nice, awesome, love this etc.

Type a keyword → press Enter or Add.
Click Next when done.

Step 4: Compose the Automated DM

Your automated message is what users receive in their inbox.

  1. Add Your Message
    Write your DM in the Message field.
    Example:  “Thanks for commenting! Here’s the link you requested.”

Then click Next.

You’ll see two powerful features you can enable on this step:

  • Follow Check-
    If enabled, AutoDM asks the user to follow you thrice.
    Now you decide if the primary Dm will delivered only after they follow or send anyway.
    This boosts follower growth for creators and brands.

  • Collect Email-
    Prompts users to share their email before receiving your main message.
    Perfect for building newsletters, lead lists, or promotion pipelines.
    A smart way to grow your email list for newsletters or promotions.

Step 5: Review & Launch

You’ll see a summary of your setup.

  • Send Automated email → If Collect E-mail feature is enabled

  • If everything looks correct → click Confirm & Launch.

  • If something needs editing → click Back. 

Your automation is now live.

Monitor results from your dashboard:

  • New Followers Gained (if Follow Check enabled)

  • Total Automation Runs

  • Button Clicks
